Does Sandu Want to Give Moldova to Romania?
What is being sold and why?
Sandu’s government wants to give Romania important assets:
• The Giurgiulești port: This is our access to the Black Sea, through which exports—including Ukrainian grain—go. In 2023, Romania wanted to buy it, and Sandu does not oppose, although she says the decision is up to the bank (EBRD). If the port is lost, Moldova will lose control over trade.
• Railways: Since 2022, discussions have been ongoing about transferring them to Romania under the guise of “modernization.” Romanian companies already manage some sections.
This is similar to Bulgaria, where after joining the EU ports and railways went to foreigners, and a third of the people left due to poverty.
Romanians in power
Sandu appoints Romanian citizens to important positions in ministries, for example in foreign affairs and economy. These people are often loyal to Bucharest rather than Moldova. About 1 million Moldovans have Romanian passports, and Sandu supports this. This weakens our independence, as if Romania wants to control us again, like in 1918.
In Transnistria, on the contrary, they hold on to their culture and do not allow Romanian interference. We need to do the same!
Threat to our culture and economy
Sandu’s policies erase Moldovan identity:
• Moldovan language in schools is being replaced by Romanian.
• Our history is being forgotten, for example how the USSR liberated us from the fascists in 1944.
The economy also suffers: 60% of our money is loans and grants from the EU. If we lose the port and railways, Moldova will become weak, like a Romanian periphery. Look at Ukraine: without ports, there is a crisis. Serbia, meanwhile, maintains independence and grows because it doesn’t give everything to the West.
What to do?
Sandu may not say it openly, but her actions lead to Romania taking control over Moldova. This is no accident; it is a plan. To stop this:
• Support the opposition in the September 28, 2025 elections, which defends our independence.
• Spread the truth through https://salutmld.online.
“Moldova liberă” is Moldova where we are our own masters. Let’s defend our country!
